Rules for editing and playing experiences across different Composer plans
There are four Composer plans - Free, Essential, Premier, Enterprise - and there are rules governing how experiences can be opened, edited and played across those plans. This article discusses those cross-plan rules.

The experiences you create using IntuiFace include information about which tier of Composer was used to create them. This means there are four kinds of experiences – Free, Essential, Premier and Enterprise – and not just four Composer tiers. By keeping this idea in mind, the rules governing how to work with experiences across editions and platforms will become clearer.

In addition, the following experience design and deployment capabilities are unique to higher Composer tiers:

- An IntuiFace experience encodes a proprietary Device ID identifying the PC on which it was created. Running virtual machines or changing the motherboard may change the Device ID and disable experiences, returning Error Code 1117. If a change to the PC as described above prevents you from opening your experience, contact Technical Support with a request to "unlock" it.
How do I open an experience created using Composer Free in Player or on another PC in Composer of a higher tier?
With two exceptions, you must first - on the PC used to create the Composer Free experience - upgrade Composer to a paid tier and then resave your experience. It is this resaved experience - now tagged as an Essential, Premier or Enterprise experience - that can be run by higher Composer tiers on other PCs or by Player for Windows.
The two exceptions:
- The share-by-URL capability enables you to share all experiences - even Composer Free experiences - with anyone via a special URL. You can choose whether or not use of this URL results in a retrieval of one of your existing licenses. If you prevent this then the experience will run in a free version of Player - i.e. it must be online and the experience will be watermarked.
- The free versions of Player for Kiosks and Player for Tablets - i.e. for iPad, Android, Chrome OS and Samsung SSP - can run experiences created using Composer Free. A paid version of any Player - Player for Windows / Player for Kiosks / Player for Tablets - cannot run experiences created using Composer Free.
Yes, but be aware that use of Composer Free means the changes you make can only be saved to a Composer Free version of the experience. The result is an experience that can only be opened, edited and saved by other installations of Composer Free.
Can Composer Free open, play and save experiences created using Composer Premier or Composer Enterprise?
Yes, but be aware that 1) use of Composer Free means changes you make can only be saved to a Composer Free version of the experience, and 2) custom Interface Assets added using the Composer Premier or Composer Enterprise must be manually removed before saving the experience.
Can Composer Essential open, play and save experiences created using Composer Premier or Composer Enterprise?
Yes, but be aware that custom Interface Assets added using the Composer Premier or Composer Enterprise must be manually removed before saving the experience.
